This is a Gorgeous little dress- a homemade piece from the 50s era it has been subtly reworked to emanate a 40s Tea dress
The fabric is a gauzy rayon blend and features an art deco pin stripe print in dark green, russet and brown against a neutral background
The bodice is shirtwaist in style with a convertible collar and four decorative vintage buttons to the front- the last button closure is a different colour to the rest it is a yellow shade while the rest are caramel in colour- not overtly noticeable.
Lovely short cuffed sleeves finished with decorative vintage buttons
The waist is elasticated and encompasses a hidden hook and adjustable fastener and a hidden zip closure to the front of the skirt
The skirt is softly gathered throughout with a hidden kick pleat to the front
Black and white ribbon belt
Fully Lined- original lining being a homemade piece is hand stitched throughout and even encompasses a hand stitched secret pocket
Condition: Excellent for its age: minimal wear to fabric- the hidden fastener along the waist is showing its age and is rusted-not seen when worn. The lining as mentioned is hand stitched throughout and shows a little wear
